LAVILA
It can be said that the house is where the clearest the
personality and lifestyle of the owner depict. That is the reason why when
designing a house, Ksoul not only focuses on aesthetics, or usability, but also
conformity as a precondition. Conformity will bring comfort, relaxation and joy
to any member of the house who will spend most of their time here. Through many
discussions about needs, and learning about Ms. Phuong's lifestyle and
personality, Ksoul decided to apply the "Wabi Sabi" design style to
this project. Wabi Sabi can be said to be more of a guiding principle than a
design trend, with imperfections at its heart, Wabi sabi-inspired ideas extend
to natural materials, reuse, versatility, asymmetry, minimalism and connection
with nature – the ultimate epitome of imperfect beauty. That's why Ksoul has
focused on the design layout and rejected all unnecessary painting and
decoration, but towards people's focus on really important items so that the
mind does not manipulated by material. The first proof is that the entire floor
in the house is poured with natural grinding concrete to bring a sense of
freedom. At the same time, the effects of cream wall paint is combined to
create a unified volume that connects with the floor, leading into the Wabi
Sabi story on the overall background. Every little detail about interior
materials, and the layout in this style, emphasizes the durability and
usefulness of the object. Wood, stone, natural fiber, or lamps made from bamboo
and rattan are the most impressive materials which complete conveys the flow of
time. In addition, in order to bring a feeling of staying at a resort to the
house, Ksoul has destroyed part of the available bedroom area of the first
floor, to expand the master bedroom space. We also expand a part of the area
for the bathroom and the cabinet system, in order to extend seamlessly from the
bathroom to the bedroom, creating a smoothness for the overall space here. And
equally important, the small design details in the interior, such as frosted
glass sliding doors, help separating the first floor space from the outside
stairs, while giving a feeling of spaciousness and airy, also bringing the
privacy required for female customers.
