CUB HOUSE is located in Can Tho city, lying on the right bank of Hau river in Mekong Delta region. This area is also known as a water city where some of the most essential activities take place on the rivers. This has made a significant impact on the way Ksoul developed design ideas from precious silt rivers, combining with the fast pace of modernization and urbanization of the West capital. The first idea is only implemented after a series of meetings with the customer because there were a large amount of alternative ideas from both sides. Terra cotta tile, glass brick, and solid brick are selected as core materials to create the vintage vibe for this project due to their familiarity. It would not be exaggerating to say we were ambitious to create a combination of modern aesthetics and local quintessence, all in one.

Passing the entrance, you will be quick to realize the intention of Ksoul utilizing terra cotta tiles for the whole floor area, putting the exhibition cabinet in the center of CUB HOUSE – reviving the images of ferry-boats floating on Hau river at sunset. It is also noticeable that straw chandeliers are placed around the store to represent the fish catching tools used by the locals. In order to visualize the silt rivers, Ksoul selected the dark orange paint from Dulux, using the the reflex from glass brick as sunray on the river surface. Besides, the use of solid brick for the display purpose is also a favourite highlight of this project that we select especially for the uniqueness of CUB HOUSE.
